Alzheimers Napier and Hastings provide a range of services which give practical and emotional support, advice and information. These services are for people with memory loss or any dementia (including Alzheimers Disease) and their family, whanau or loved
ones.
Information is also offered to the wider local
community. For further information about dementia, Alzheimers or memory loss see
www.alzheimers.org.nz . A diagnosis of dementia is devastating for the whole family so it is important to seek some support as early as possible - support from people who really understand what you are going through is invaluable. Information is a great asset and means that things can be set in place which make it so much easier later
on. The person with the diagnosis can make decisions about their future welfare that they might not be able to do at a later date.
The two main types of services we offer are:
Community
Services. Our Community Liaison Officers offer visits, support groups and other advocacy or educational services which provide ongoing support. For more information see Community Information links above.
The Mahana Club in Napier and Chatham Club in Hastings run
days, and offer a day of stimulation, challenge and fun for club members
and a day off for carers. For more information see Club links above.
Help is only a phone call or email away. Please call us and arrange to talk to someone who does understand what you are going through.
